21^st ANNUAL WORLD BUCKSKIN SALE

The 21st Annual IBHA World Show Sale was held in conjunction with the IBHA World Championship Show on August 5th in Memphis, Tennessee. Traditionally, lot #1 was a limited edition, signed and numbered #91/400 of the Orren Mixer painting of "the Buckskin". Proceeds of this sale go to the Youth Scholarship Fund of IBHA. Additional numbered prints can be purchased from the IBHA office and the AQHA Heritage Center in Amarillo, Texas.

A total of eleven lots went through the auction ring. Although the number of entries were down, the quality, condition of the horses and pedigrees were some of the best ever offered at auction. Pedigrees represented some of the greatest sires and dams in AQHA. Bloodlines of KID CLU, MR YELLA FELLA, OBVIOUS CONCLUSION, HOLLYWOOD JAC 86, DOC TARI, HOLLYWOOD SMOKE, THE INVESTOR, BEAU BONANZA, COLOR ME SKIP, PEPPY SAN BADGER, ZIPPO PINE BAR, HOTRODDERS JET SET and ZIPS CHOCOLATE CHIP were represented this year.

Ages ranged from yearling to 9 yrs old with a couple horses shown in the World Show. Mares averaged $983 with mares of riding age averaging $1290. There were no geldings and only one stallion, a yearling. Consignors were from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana and Mississippi. There was much interest shown from potential new consignors for next year's sale. The 2012 sale is tentatively being considered for August 10, 2012 pending final dates of the 2012 IBHA World Championship Show.

She has bay and brown throughout her pedigree and could possibly produce a buckskin or dun. She is gentle, sweet and well trained and has earned 1/2 point in AQHA. She has been ridden by novice riders and now is started in horsemanship and trail. This mare has the breeding to be a great broodmare. Since our trainer was coming to the IBHA World to show we thought that there could possibly be interested parties for this kind of mare so we entered her in this sale. We hope she gets a good home to expand her potential.
